Israel has intensified demolitions in the northern West Bank as part of its ongoing military campaign, Operation Iron Wall, which it says is aimed at targeting armed groups.

In Tulkarm, the military operation has escalated, resulting in a sharp increase in home demolitions. Local residents increasingly warn that conditions in the West Bank are beginning to mirror those in Gaza.

Since January, more than 100 Palestinians have been killed, according to local health authorities, while the United Nations reports over 260 structures have been demolished. Humanitarian organizations warn the campaign has triggered the largest wave of forced displacement in the West Bank in decades.

I co-produced this report for CGTN alongside Danielle Robertson, with essential on-the-ground support from Sam Hassan. Accessing the Nur Shams refugee camp — now largely off-limits to Western journalists — involved considerable risk, but reporting from within the camp was crucial to telling this story.
